hold it! An Ace Attorney 20th Anniversary vinyl box set is available for pre-order

It’s been over 20 years since Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was first released in Japan on the Game Boy Advance Gyakuten Saibanand while we had to wait until 2005 in the West, there’s no denying that the franchise has become one of the most popular on the DS and beyond.

With the release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles last year receiving rave reviews – including from us in our review – it’s no wonder Capcom is celebrating. We’re getting a concert next month, but that’s not enough.

Capcom has teamed up with Laced Records to create a vinyl box set covering all six main games in the series – this is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. And they look prettier than a cup of Godot’s coffee:

These beautiful vinyl sleeves feature some amazing new illustrations by ultimatemaverickxwho was also responsible for the incredible art on the MegaMan vinyls. They capture the fun spirit of the Ace Attorney games while also showcasing multiple characters and their unique personalities. They are absolutely perfect for any fan of the series.

There will be 121 remastered tracks across all six albums. And there was no shortage of big names composing music for the series; Masakazu Sugimori (Viewtiful Joe, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Murder by Numbers), Naoto Tanaka (Mega Man X5 – X8, Bayonetta) and Noriyuki Iwadare (Lunar, Grandia and Langrisser series) are famous for their work on the first ones three games.

The compositions for the last three games fell to Toshihiko Horiyama (Mega Man X series, Onimusha: Warlords), Hideki Okugawa (Street Fighter III, Dead Rising, Resident Evil 5), Masami Onodera (Explore Monster Hunter) and series creator Shu Takumi – occasionally.

This is a pretty hefty selection of crackers. If you want to get your hands on the gold discs, they only come in the limited edition. These six “heavyweight” vinyls are available for pre-order now from Laced Records in North America and worldwide. A standard Black Record version will also be available on the website, along with select third parties. The collection is expected to be delivered in October this year.
