Holiday warning as Spain tightens Covid entry rules nets millions of Britons

SPAIN will increase Covid vaccine entry requirements from the beginning of next month.
The new rules could cause immediate problems for Britons planning to go abroad during the midterm break.
From 1 February, Spain will only allow Britons who can prove that they have been fully vaccinated against Covid within the last 270 days to enter.
Anyone who received a second dose more than nine months ago must have a booster shot to be allowed in.
The booster must be given more than 14 days before departure.
The official Spain travel website Safe Spain states: “From February 1, 2022, to travel to Spain with a certificate of vaccination, the certificate must be issued by the competent authority. rights of the country of origin at least 14 days after the administrative date. The last dose of the entire series of immunizations, provided that the last dose of that vaccination was not more than 270 days ago.”
The new requirement could cause problems for Britons, who have not been boosted and hope to visit Spain in half a term.

Under Level 4 rules, beaches are limited to 50% capacity and those wishing to visit the beach may have to make an appointment.
Up to six people can meet indoors or outdoors, and Covid passports must be presented to enter all facilities.
The new vaccine rule will deal a blow to Spain’s tourism industry, which has already suffered the consequences of the pandemic.
