Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield prepare ‘dangerous’ lunch before 60th birthday

Phillip Schofield revealed on Thursday that he and his good friend Holly Willoughby went to lunch together to celebrate his 60th birthday a day early.

This morning: Holly and Phillip prepare for a ‘dangerous’ birthday lunch

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby revealed that they are going to lunch on Thursday afternoon after hosting This Morning together.

Father-of-two Phillip will turn 60 on Friday April 1 and has apparently decided to start the celebrations early.

At the end of Thursday’s show, Lisa Snowdon presented Phillip with a beautiful birthday cake as Holly said: “Before we go, we can’t end the show without wishing Phil a very happy birthday!”

“Tomorrow by the way,” Phil replied when Holly added, “Yeah but we’re not here tomorrow!”

“Thank you!” Phil said as he blew big sparks on the cake as guest chef Gok Wan told him to “have the best day ever”.

“Look, what a great day! And have a great birthday Phil, you deserve it,” Gok said, as Phil revealed, “We’re going out for a little lunch.”

“Lovely, let’s get out of the car!” Gok replied when he heard Holly say, “It’s dangerous!” before muttering something about picking himself up “from the floor”.

It happened after Holly gave Phil another cake backstage before Thursday’s performance began.

On Instagram, Holly posted several videos of her story, including a scene where a female cast member presented a cake covered with sweets to the veteran TV presenter as Holly and the others sang.

Phil has also shared a number of snaps on his Instagram Story, including a behind-the-scenes shot of the hallway covered in gold and silver balloons.

He then revealed some of the gifts he’d been given, including a bottle of champagne and several packets of gingerbread cookies.

Naturally, this caused quite a stir on Twitter as viewers of This Morning couldn’t believe Phillip’s real age.

“Phillip Schofield is 60? WHAT?? He’s not looking at it, that’s for sure,” one fan tweeted.

“I can’t understand the fact that Phillip Schofield is 60 years old. He’s older than my nan,” another quipped.

“Safe to say Phillip Schofield doesn’t look 60. What’s his secret? I’d love to know,” another wrote.

The fourth chirped: “Happy birthday Phillip Schofield. Looks like a lot of fun this Morning.”
