Freeze the Fear: Holly Willoughby hosts new BBC series
There’s a definite answer to BBC1’s chilling new challenge show Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof.
“Who would have thought the UK would want to see people freezing their stuff in the wild right now?”
I actually assume some goons at Beeb watched the Ice Bucket Challenge and thought “Let’s do it in six hours.”
I had another question though: Why is there so much slow motion playback?
Is it so cold in the Italian mountains that the camera goes into slow motion?

Or is there so little interesting content that editors have to find ways to add hours?
If you’ve watched it, you’re probably leaning towards the second explanation.
It didn’t help that there was so little danger in the first challenge posed by the “global phenomenon” Hof, who was unfortunately not nicknamed the Bear Chylls by British audiences.
Eight celebrity contestants were asked to jump into an ice hole in a frozen lake. However, since this was filmed years ago and they are all still on Twitter, the chances of the drama are as low as zero as the temperature.
There’s a certain schoolboy who enjoys hearing Hof’s “icehole” scream in a Dutch accent, but that’s not the only thing that makes me smile.

Even before the first celebrity took the plunge, the thought of Dawn French dancing in that puddle in The Vicar Of Dibley was ingrained in my mind.
That, along with Wim appearing on Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Coors Light channel and host Holly Willoughby sabotaged the whole point by regularly telling contestants to “go and get your spirit back.” god”, which means I struggled to take this show seriously.
Obviously, if Hof’s “fear-faced” story speaks to you, you might be inclined to let it go.
Sadly, the more chilling trials I faced, the more I felt the urge to raise my hand like Cowell and ask Hof if he would sing a second song.
Maybe it’s time to ditch the Wim Hof Method and replace it with the Switch Hof Method.
