HOLLYOAKS star Adam Woodward has been spotted looking unrecognizable 4 months after giving up soap for a major career change.
The actor took to Instagram to show off his new look – smiling for the camera as he wrestled a friend to the floor with a Brazilian Ju Jitsu move.
Adam, 29, rose to fame on the ITV series Emmerdale as Grant before going on to play Brody Hudson on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks in 2017.
The character got caught up in a number of convoluted storylines throughout his appearance before he abandoned the series last year.
Tense scenes see him sexually assaulted by football coach Buster Smith – played by Nathan Sussex – when he was just a teenager.
Elsewhere, viewers watched as his toxic relationship with Sienna Blake, played by Anna Passey, unfolds – as well as his reunion with his brother Scott (Ross Adams).
Adam quit the soap in September, with the first plan laid out for him to leave “before COVID hits” as the actor revealed he “knew where Brody was going”.
He told The Express of conversations months before he left: “We are discussing where to take Brody or whether his time will be wrapped up.”
Now, Adam has turned his attention to a whole new career in martial arts and looks VERY different from his early days.
Four months after his last episode aired, the star revealed that he’s grown his hair to form long curls and exercised more.
Various social media snaps show the slow growth of Adam’s brown locks, tucking it neatly behind his ears before unleashing his long locks.
While the videos document his impressive weight loss and abs ripple after months of training in the gym.
Blue belt Ju Jitsu, who has recently competed in a number of UK competitions, can be seen smiling for the camera for just a moment in black and white.
“Just two grown men enjoying a cuddle,” he captioned the snap, as fans flocked to the comments section to pout at Adam’s change in appearance.
“Keep going Adam, love this,” one person wrote, as a second added: “That’s the big smile for me.”
It happened a few months after Adam waved goodbye to Hollyoaks after four years.
The star has been given a contract extension through lockdowns in the UK to give his character the proper ride he deserves in September 2021.
He emphasized that this was a joint decision to end the character’s time on the show, emphasizing that he was looking forward to “exploding” in an interview with Digital Spy.
Adam said: “Brody’s carefree attitude was quickly cut off when the past came back to haunt him in Buster form.
“I will forever cherish my time working on the abuse storyline because of the positive impact we all made and how well it was received by audiences.”
