Hollyoaks actor Andy Moss announced his engagement while he was sunbathing on vacation.

The star, who is known for playing Rhys Ashworth in the Channel 4 drama, posted on her Instagram page sharing the news.

He posted two photos showing the moment his teammate Mark Bennett got down on one knee and raised the question.

The couple were enjoying a romantic vacation in Greece when Mark proposed to Andy.

Andy captioned the photos: “I said YES!”

The first photo shows Mark kneeling to propose to Andy as he puts the ring on his finger while the second picture shows the couple relaxing on the boat with a beer following the exciting news during their trip to the island Naxos.

Soap colleagues flocked to the comments congratulating the newly engaged couple.

While Anthony Quinlan, who plays Andy’s on-screen best friend, Gilly Roach said, “Love this mate! Congratulations to both of you.”

Jorgie Porter as Theresa McQueen took the lead by writing ‘Yasssss’ with a string of love heart emojis.

Claire Cooper, Andy Jacqui McQueen’s on-screen love interest, said: “Great news congrats to you both.”

As Doctor Who actress Mandip Gill who plays Phoebe McQueen commented, “Congratulations both!!!”

Andy’s Hollyoaks star Bronagh Waugh, who plays Cheryl Brady, joined the couple for the proposal and documented it on her Instagram page.

Bronagh was on holiday with other friends for the event and wrote: “What a SUCCESS to be on the yacht & to share the moment when he said YES!!

“It’s the most beautiful and HOT day … v suitable for a prince to meet his Prince.

“Love you both so much @andymossss @markbenn85 #beyoncé #helikeditsoheputaringonit.”

Bronagh went on to share a collection of photos showing the bond as well as other activities they did during their time together as a group.

It is not known how long Andy and Mark have been together but Mark has appeared on Andy’s Instagram page since 2016.

The couple has traveled all over the world together, going to Thailand, New York and Sri Lanka together.

The couple also have a pet labrador dog together.

Andy hasn’t returned to Hollyoaks since 2014 when he appeared as a ghost.

He first came to the village 12 years ago and continued to participate in a series of dramatic storylines until he was killed in 2012.

He was involved in plots such as his sister Hannah’s anorexia, his relationship with Jacqui McQueen and an affair with Cindy Cunningham as well as an incest plot.

In 2014, he briefly returned to participate in Cindy’s bipolar storyline, where he appeared as a ghost.

Since leaving, he has continued to take on roles in Doctors and Deep Cuts.
