GHOSTS aren’t usually welcome in any family home, but for Martin Roberts’ House Under the Hammer, it’s a different story.
The TV presenter, 58, has claimed his 17th-century home is guarded by a spirit wielding a shotgun, and that he “loves it”.
Martin lives on an old Welsh farm, and the housing expert is intrigued by the spooky history attached to his property.
He recently revealed that he even left some Christmas presents for the ghosts and that they are welcome in his home.
While appearing on the brand new TV show Help Celebrities! My House Is Haunted, Martin delves into the history of the Edwards family, who formerly lived on his land many generations ago.
Speaking of his “haunted house”, Martin said: “I love my haunted house and now I know the names of the ghosts. I’m not the owner – I’m the custodian.”
The supernatural savvy celebrity added that when he moved in, he “felt it immediately, but nothing negative.
“During the renovation, I was talking to the house, saying I was here to help it.”
As part of the programme, Martin enlisted the help of several experts in the field and explained the fascinating discovery.
“A historical investigator learned that there was a woman, a boy and a girl, and a man sitting in the living room with a handgun.
“In one of the things they did, I definitely heard the girl – Bryony – say ‘Martin’.”
As a man of faith, the star explained that the spirits did not frighten him, and he felt comforted by their presence.
Although he has never seen spirits himself, he admits that he can sense their presence.
He continued, “I’m religious, so I believe in the afterlife.
“They hadn’t gone to heaven or hell so with the help of a paranormal expert a path was opened for them to leave but they decided to stay.
“I buy stockings and Christmas presents – toys, beer and slippers.”
