Martin Roberts updates his health after the emergency procedure
Homes Under the Hammer host Martin Roberts has revealed he was rushed to the hospital and had to undergo an emergency surgery.
The TV star and former partner of I’m Celebrity revealed that after feeling unwell, things took a turn when he was rushed to the hospital and was severely frightened.
He revealed his health issue on Wednesday could cost him “hours to live”, as he detailed how the fluid around his heart was stopping it from working.
The presenter is currently recovering in hospital from a “serious” condition following emergency surgery, and revealed he is thanking “god and angels”.
Martin shared the news on Twitter in a video with the caption: “So what a shock. Thankfully, I’m here to tell the story…”
He then said, “Well, I have to say this is not the place I expected to see Homes Under the Hammer.
“A little bit of good news, a little bit of bad news. I ended up being hospitalized in Bath yesterday.

“I had some chest pains and was feeling tired, so I was brought here and it turned out I had a large amount of fluid around my heart, which really stopped my heart from working.
“If they don’t get out of it, which they did in an emergency surgery last night, it’s pretty serious, like, hours to live like some kind of ***.

“So here I am, still around, thank heaven, thank god and angels, all that.”
Martin continued: “As a result a lot of other complications happened, but we’ll work those out and I’ll keep you updated.
“Meanwhile, there’s a good TV show that I think I’ll watch here.”
He was flooded with well-wishes from followers and friends after sharing the video, including his colleague Lucy Alexander.
The TV star said: “Omg…omg sending you the BIGGEST hug ever. Love your partner.”
Another reader commented: “Oh my, what a shock and scary. Wishing a full recovery.”
Martin recently appeared on Good Morning Britain, where he shared his plans to travel to the Ukrainian border to deliver much-needed supplies, amid the conflict with Russia.
He told the hosts in an update last month, as he made the journey: “When you witness it with your own eyes and you see things like this, this pile of baby bags will be given to each child who comes to the center , they are given bags of small things they can take with them on their next journey like coloring books and a cuddly toy.
“This is on the border of reality and when you see these families just lining up to get to, I don’t know what, it’s impossible not to be affected by it.
“These images pop up in my head, I can’t forget them.”
