Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin Roberts said he could have had “hours to live”.

Martin Roberts said he underwent emergency surgery to remove fluid that “was preventing my heart from working”.

The presenter, who spent almost a decade at the helm of Homes Under The Hammer, went to the hospital with “a little bit of a pain in the chest” and “feeling bad all over the place” before realizing it was much more serious.

Roberts, 58, captured video from his hospital room on Thursday and said: “I have to say this is not where I expected to see Homes Under The Hammer today.

“It turned out I had a massive amount of fluid around my heart that was actually preventing my heart from working and if they hadn’t gotten rid of it, which they did in emergency surgery last night, then it’s quite serious how hours to live.”

The TV star who appeared on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ In 2016 he said he ended up in the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

“As a result, many complications have arisen, but we will work these out,” he added.

Roberts captioned the Twitter video: “A bit shocking. Luckily I’m here to tell the story.”
