Honda driver had a car accident that made the clock go back 20 years

HONDA owners are experiencing “mini-Y2K” after the dashboard clocks on some vehicles malfunctioned and were reset to January 1, 2002.
The cause of the strange problem affecting UK and US Honda vehicles released between 2004 and 2012 has yet to be found.
Driving forums were flooded by dozens of interested Honda owners in the days after January 1, 2022.
They don’t understand why their dashboard clock is reset to 00:00 on New Year’s Day, 2002.
Chris Callopy wrote on Ridgeline Owners Club forum: “I drove to work today. The clock shows January 1, 2002.
“Time is stupid.”
Poster VitaliyKuku added: “Same problem on my 2011 RTL.”
Within hours, hundreds of drivers contacted each other via Twitter, Facebook and automotive forums detailing their experiences on the matter.
Others pointed out malfunction means in the car sat navs currently showing incorrect arrival time.
Sandie, a 2007 Honda CR-V owner from Scotland, told The Sun: “This is extremely frustrating to say the least.”
The sat nav issue cannot be fixed until the dashboard clock issue is sorted out, she added.
Sandie, who doesn’t want to reveal her last name, said: “You can’t change the time because GPS satellites change it for you.
“If I’m going on a 24 minute journey, the driver is bound to tell me I’ll be there at 00:24!”
A spokesperson for Honda UK told the Honda forum CR-V . Owners Club: “We have just received some additional information regarding this and have been informed that Honda engineering is currently working on this.
“Once a fix is available for this issue, authorized Honda dealers will be notified of the issue and will be able to assist with the fix at that time.
“It’s best to check with your local authorized Honda dealer for any updates as they will have the most up-to-date information on this and will be able to assist once a fix is released. .”
Meanwhile, Honda USA says the problem will automatically fix in August 2022 – but there’s no resolution until then.
A spokesperson said: “We have reported the NAVI Watch Issue to our Engineering Team and they have informed us that you will experience the issue between January 2022 and August 2022, and then it will fix automatically.
“Rest assured that we will continue to monitor this and will advise you if a fix is available before that time.”
Nearly half a million Tesla owners were forced to take their cars in for service after a technology glitch caused an “increased risk of an accident”.
Problem with rear camera and front roof latch forced a large recall.
honda driver have also been warned of a potentially dangerous Bluetooth bug affects iPhone users.
