Honors for Honor Guard Dillon Joseph Kidney-Quinn on his death aged two

Heartbreaking tributes were paid to Little Blue Heroes Honor Guard Dillon Joseph Kidney-Quinn, who died unexpectedly at just two years old.

Aois Boy Dillon passed away on Monday December 26th surrounded by his loving family.

Laois Offaly Gardai and Little Blue Heroes said Dillon is “a part of the Little Blue Family and always will be”.

“Our hearts are saddened to hear that one of our Little Blue Heroes, Honor Guard Dillon Joseph Kidney – Quinn, passed away unexpectedly on December 26th surrounded by his loving family,” they wrote.

“We are so proud that the Honorary Garda Dillon HG211 is and always will be a part of the Little Blue Family. In policing we talk about bravery, honor and courage and Dillon exemplified it all.”

His obituary on RIP.ie reads: “Dillon Joseph Kidney – Quinn of Willow Grove, Mountmellick, Co. Laois, aged 2, died unexpectedly on Monday 26th December surrounded by his loving family.

“Sadly missed by his loving parents Ann and Gavin, big brothers Tyler and Daragh, big sister Hannah, grandparents Martin and Marie, Joe and Marion, aunts, uncles and cousins, great grandmother, a large circle of relatives and friends. “

In the condolences section, people left numerous messages of condolences, including one that read: “My heartfelt condolences to all of Dillon’s family on your sad loss, another little angel.”

Another added, “Condolences to Ann and Gavin on Dillon’s sudden death.. Thinking of all the Quinn and Kidney families at this very sad time…Dillon was a beautiful, happy little boy.”

Another person wrote: “Thoughts are with you all at this heartbreaking time, I saw your little angel online with Little Blue Heroes as Honorary Garda and saw an amazing little boy with a twinkle in his eye, I’m so sorry hear of your immense loss.

“May he always fly high and watch over you all.”

“So terribly sad such a beautiful little boy, my sincere condolences to Dillon’s family, may God give you all the love and support as you mourn the loss of your precious child,” added another.

“Heaven has won a precious little angel. Rest peacefully Dillon, our prayers and thoughts are with your family at this sad time. God give them strength,” said another.

Dillon’s Mass of The Angels will be held at St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick on Saturday at 10am, followed by burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery.
