Piata Tauwhare, 30, has been described as a “beautiful” woman with the “kindest and purest soul”.

Tributes have been paid to a ‘beautiful’ newlywed bride who was found dead in a tanning salon.

Piata Tauwhare, 30, died at the Lextan tanning studio in Swansea, South Wales last Saturday after reportedly booking an 11-minute tanning session.

However, her husband Ifan Jones, 23, said his “beautiful” wife was in the booth for two hours after collapsing during their session from suspected sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.

In a tribute to mental health worker Piata, whom Ifan referred to as “P”, he said his wife is “his everything and so much more”.

A GoFundMe page Set up for Piata’s family, she said she has “the brightest smile, aura and heart” and is “one of the kindest and purest souls” of all time.

The tribute continued, “Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of honoring the presence of Piata Tauwhare will know that she was one of the kindest and purest souls they have ever had and will ever be remembered.

“Her bright smile forever on her sun-kissed face will live happily in our hearts forever. Even when she didn’t understand a word we said in our weird Welsh accent, her teeth still glistened politely and reassuringly to make us feel heard.

“That was her in a nutshell, a compassionate, selfless woman who puts others first even when she couldn’t understand a frigging word we were saying.

“Pi was the most caring, special daughter, sister, cousin, friend and wife.”

South Wales Police said they were called to the Lextan tanning salon in the city by paramedics last Saturday after a body was reportedly found.

A spokesman for the salon chain confirmed the woman was a customer, and other employees were offered advice following the grisly discovery.

Detective Inspector Gareth Jones of South Wales Police said Wales Online : “South Wales Police were called by the Welsh Ambulance Service at around 4.05pm on Saturday 28 May following reports that the body of a woman had been found inside a commercial building in Carmarthen Road, Fforestfach.

“Emergency services attended and found the body of a woman in her 30s.

“It is believed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. Her next of kin have been informed and a file has been passed to the coroner.”

A Lextan spokesman offered his condolences to Piata’s family.

She added: “We are unfortunately able to confirm that on Saturday 28th April a customer

“We offer our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and have also offered advice to all affected employees.

“We are cooperating with the investigation of this case by South Wales Police.”
