Hooe crash victim named as 11-year-old Harry Dennis

A boy who died after a collision between a car and a van has been named.

Harry Dennis, 11, died of complications from his injuries after being flown to a London hospital.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Eastbourne man at the scene of the accident on the B2095 in Hooe.

He has now been released on unconditional bail while the investigation continues.

Sussex Police Detective Sergeant Rob Baldwin, of the Serious Collision Investigation Branch, said: “Our thoughts are with Harry’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

“We will continue to support them and keep them informed of the progress of the investigation.”

The collision between a car and a pickup truck happened on Thursday, December 15 at around 3:05 p.m.

Harry died of his injuries on Saturday December 17th.

Police are still asking for information about the crash, including dashcam footage or CCTV.
