Horizon Forbidden West story trailer introduces us to some familiar faces

Just a few more weeks until we – at last – hit our arrows and get to work Forbidden Horizon in the West. To ensure that we are all properly advertised, PlayStation released a new story trailer that introduces a bit of Aloy’s next big quest into unknown lands.

Here is its long and short; The world is dying, and all that is good and natural is being poisoned and strangled by a mysterious new threat that only Aloy seems to be able to stop. To slow nature’s decay (and save the world, of course), our red-headed archer hero must head West – into a land forgotten by everyone Aloy knows, to trace the source of this plague and stop “The Red Blight” for good.

Check out the trailer below.

Luckily for Aloy, though, she won’t have to face these new difficulties alone. A pair of familiar faces from Zero Dawn characters Erend and Varl will accompany her on her journey, Merry and Pippin to her curious Frodo. The new trailer also shows Sylens returning, though the character is heading West to team up with the Regalla, a war-loving tribe that seek to control machines for their own cruel purposes.

Regarding the new characters, we have Tilda; a mysterious woman dressed in black and silver about which, at the time of writing, we don’t know much about. Apparently, she has a “special connection to the distant past” – could she be a human who somehow lived through the apocalypse that left the world in the state we see it today? We do not know. What we do know, however, is that the character is voiced by none other than Carrie-Ann Moss (whom you may know better as Trinity in the Matrix movies). We are looking forward to the appeal she can bring to the game.

Released on both PS5 and PS4, Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn. and after a few delays, it is finally set to come to our console on February 18, 2022. You can see the tribes you will meet in the game here, or you can love new (and sometimes larger) robotic fauna As if Rollerback is like a swing arm, Sunwing is flying and Slitherfang is like a snake, at the links.
