Horizon Maker Guerrilla praises Lance Reddick’s profound impact

To update: Guerrilla Games, the creator of the Horizon series, has released a tribute to actor Lance Reddick after it was announced he passed away earlier this week. In the post, it thanks the star for bringing the character of Sylens to life and goes on to praise him for his “generous warmth and inimitable presence.” The news adds that he’s had “a profound impact not only as part of our cast, but on our community.”
Bungie has already released a tribute as Reddick appeared as Commander Zavala in the Destiny games. “Lance Reddick was an iconic presence on screen, in Destiny, and most importantly, personally,” he wrote.

The 60-year-old may have made his mark on television and films, but he’s also starred in a variety of major video game franchises, including PlayStation exclusives Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, as well as Destiny 2. He just got it last year done portrayed Albert Wesker in Netflix’s reimagining of Resident Evil.
Reddick will almost certainly be reprising his role as Sylens in Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores expansion next month, having been spotted motion capturing in a since-deleted Instagram post late last year.
Just this week he was in the process of doing press for the latest John Wick film and was due to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show in the coming days. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
