Hotel guests get to watch a musical performance by Hollywood star Dame Judi Dench
Guests at a hotel in Scotland watched a concert by Hollywood star Dame Judi Dench and singer Sharleen Spiteri.
The video, which was posted to Twitter and has garnered more than 100,000 views, shows the pair sharing a stool, with Dame Judi playing the piano and singing a part of Abba’s hit Waterloo while Miss Spiteri performed the song.
The show took place at The Fife Arms in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, just before midnight fireworks to celebrate 2023.
Twitter users expressed their thoughts on the clip.
“Two absolute legends,” one said, while another recalled getting on the same train as Dame Judi years ago.
Whether the actress actually plays the piano is also a matter of speculation.

One tweeter wrote: “Didn’t anyone else realize that this is a self-playing piano? The keys move on their own and Dame Judy is working great! (Sorry to spoil the party atmosphere)”.
Another said: “Look at the keys, she’s not really playing.”
Even so, Ewan Venters, chief executive of Artfarm, which owns The Fife Arms, told BBC Scotland the show brought happiness to those present.
He said: “Judi Dench and Sharleen Spiteri were at the hotel and we had an impromptu moment at the piano.
“It was a fun evening with lots of guests and locals clapping.”
