Ramon Baggot, 40, who was in the area this afternoon, related it MyLondon: “The young people go there in the pub and the old people. It’s a bad mix. I don’t go there anymore. I feel sorry for him. I think a lot of people saw him in Hounslow. Seeing the police here, is normal. Many stab wounds and death.

“I want to move out as soon as possible. It’s cheap here, so people who don’t like the violence can’t move out because it’s more expensive everywhere.”

The man’s family has been informed and is being assisted by specialized officials.

He has yet to be formally identified and an autopsy will be arranged in due course.

A murder investigation has now been launched, with Met Police urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector James Shirley, Specialist Crime, said: “An urgent investigation is underway to determine what happened in the early hours of this morning and to determine who is responsible for this horrific attack

“Our investigation will be extensive and thorough, including a full forensic investigation of the area, which is ongoing, and detailed surveys to obtain all available CCTV systems.

“I’m appealing to anyone who has been in the area and has not yet spoken to the police to come forward. Even if you think you haven’t seen anything special, please contact the criminal police.

“I also want to hear from anyone who took photos or recordings with their phone or other device, and any drivers with dashcam footage of the area at the time of the murder.”

“I urge anyone with information about anyone carrying knives or other weapons to share their knowledge with the police or with charities like Crimestoppers.
