House prices in Lewes fell by an average of over £10,000 in July, according to figures from the Land Registry.
The price drop in Lewes is one of the largest percentage drops across the UK over the month.
The latest Government Department data shows that average house prices in Lewes hit £391,468 in July 2022.
That was down from £402,457 in June, down 2.7 per cent. In the last 12 months it has increased by 9.0 percent.

- detached houses – Down to £599,992 from £618,398 in June
- terraced houses – Down to £412,669 in June from £423,196
- terraced houses – Down to £334,675 from £343,446 in June
- Apartments – Down to £203,786 from £209,630 in June
Despite falling prices this month, Lewes is still well above the UK average, with the typical property value across the countries hitting £292,118 in July.
In cash terms, the average house price in July was £39,157 higher than a year earlier, with house price growth accelerating to 15.5 per cent in July 2022. Prices rose 2.0 percent month-on-month.
