Houston Astros’ Zack Greinke (neck) scratched from start, goes on 10-day IL

OAKLAND, Calif. — Houston Astros right-hander Zack Greinke was scratched from his scheduled begin Friday evening and positioned on the 10-day injured listing with neck soreness.

Greinke, who missed 12 video games earlier this month whereas on the COVID-19 listing, is 11-6 with a 4.11 ERA in 29 begins for Houston.

The six-time All-Star and 2009 AL Cy Younger Award winner hasn’t received since beating the Angels on Aug. 13 and has did not make it previous the fifth inning in his final three outings.

Greinke, who turns 38 in October, is a free agent on the finish of the season.
