Hove man fined to pay nearly £2,000 for handling stolen iMac

A MAN has been fined to pay almost £2,000 after being found guilty of handling a stolen iMac.

Between 15th September and 19th September 2020, Phillip James Baynes of Davigdor Road in Hove dishonestly undertook or assisted in the safekeeping, removal, disposal or disposal of the iMac and keyboard.

The 51-year-old pleaded not guilty on June 9 last year but was found guilty by Brighton Magistrates’ Court on January 26 this year.

Baynes appeared before Brighton Magistrates on Thursday last week, July 21.

He was fined £1,200 and has to pay £740 in costs, for a total of £1,940.

Baynes will have to pay £100 a week from today, July 28.
