A COMPANY with a focus on gin would like to open another location in a former church.
Brighton Bars Ltd, which runs the Gin Tub in Church Street, Hove, intends to open in the former St James Church in Worthing
The company is applying for an alcohol license at 10 High Street, the former home of Alehouse and Kitchen, next to Saints and Sinners.
It is believed that two separate companies will emerge at the venue.
If things continue, the Gin Tub will be the latest of several Brighton and Hove food and drink businesses to have expanded into Worthing.
These include the Laughing Dog, Brighton Road and Cases in the Montague Quarter.
Worthing Borough Council is reviewing the license application and holding a consultation on its website by 8 September.
The Gin Tub is applying for permission to open and serve alcohol Monday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
If a license is granted, live music would be allowed between 6pm and 11pm, seven days a week.
A decision should be made by early October.
