The powers that be at Disney will no doubt prioritize brands like Marvel and “Star Wars” when it comes to merchandise – and they’re probably right to do so. Those are guaranteed brands, with big money that will move the goods to the shelves. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to create many (many!) other brands under their giant umbrella. Case in point: “Journal 3” probably changed them. And it’s a product.
It seems that Disney has finally shrewdly realized that “Gravity Falls” has a huge fan base out there who are happy to shell out some money for the show. At the time of the initial interview, Hirsch was merely hoping that the show would be released on DVD. The current? The entire series is available as a beautiful box set, available at Amazon and other retailers. So while things were a bit bleak there for a minute, the situation has definitely tilted in favor of Hirsch and this show’s dedicated fan base. So maybe we can get the “Gravity Falls” video game at some point?
