How many episodes of Respondent are there?

Respondent Based on true events like the life of a former police officer Tony Schumacher, as well as the scriptwriter for the series.

There are five episodes in the series where Martin Freeman plays co-star Chris Carson.

What happened in episodes 1 and 2?

The series follows Chris Carson, played by Freeman, on a series of night shifts in central Liverpool.

In the first two episodes, we see Carson as a fringe man, and scenes on duty are interspersed with scenes of him in therapy, at home, and with his mother in a nursing home.

He teams up with Rachel Hargreaves, an inexperienced and still idealistic new officer who wants to play by the rules.

We also met Carl Sweeney, a middle-class drug dealer whose cocaine inventory was stolen by drug addict Casey.

Carson was trying to help Casey and in doing so overtook Sweeney, prompting Sweeney to attempt to threaten him.

When is the Respondent on TV?

The Respondent was first announced in February 2020, but filming was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic..

The series continues next Monday, January 31, 2022, at 9pm on BBC One.

The next episode will continue the next day (February 1, 2022) at the same time.
