Growing up as Sophie Hinchliffe, the mother of two battled anxiety, lack of confidence and her weight as a barber.

Desperately trying to control her anxiety, Sophie finds solace in cleaning.

She eventually set up the Instagram account @MrsHinchHome, where she initially posts interior inspirations and cleaning tips, sharing snapshots of her famous gray aesthetic.

It hit like a rocket and in that time she’s amassed a staggering 4.2 million followers – her Hinchers – and has brands lined up to work. with her.

But how Sophie went from a struggling hairdresser to a world ruler – here, we chart her success…

EARlier YEARS

Long before she took over our network and Minkys still didn’t exist, Sophie worked a number of jobs in a variety of industries.

According to Influencer Matchmaker, these include waitressing, nursery and sales assistants, and qualifying as hairdressers.

But while Sophie is succeeding on the surface, she is battling her own mental health demons every day.

During her “early to mid-twenties”, Sophie suffered from “crises of anxiety and panic attacks” and discovered that cleaning was her last coping mechanism – saying, “Then I’ll stand Get up and get a cloth or a rag or a car and start going.”

After experiencing first-hand the calming power of cleaning, Sophie will review to-do lists and find that “getting through them is so rewarding”.

DRUGS BUT DANGEROUS Metabolism

Sophie may be known for her lustrous blonde hair and slim figure, but she has previously revealed that she doesn’t always look like that.

Although life seems perfect online, in 2020 Mrs Hinch revealed her weight insecurity forced her to wear a £6,000 stomach band – causing her pain and urgent surgery. grant.

Sophie told The Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine how she has piled on the pounds in her late teens.

She said that after leaving home and passing her driving test, she regularly gets in her car to go to McDonald’s Drive-Thrus.

“Before I knew it, I ate because it felt like my own,” she said. I’m taking pizza and delivering. I love food, even now. ”

Ms Hinch revealed that shopping becomes a struggle, and she wears loose clothes as much as possible to “fit”.

She eventually hit rock bottom when she couldn’t take a trip to a fairground and said, “It hit me… the look, the way people look at you.”

Desperate to change his perspective, the part-time hairdresser took out a £6,000 loan and put on a gastric band at the age of 21 – but the outcome was disastrous.

Two years after it was inserted, she was left in excruciating pain after it slipped and ended up getting stuck in her esophagus.

Sophie revealed that she was hospitalized and underwent an emergency surgery to move it back.

The cleaning service said the gastric band was still inside her, but has not been opened now so it’s not working.

Sophie regrets doing it in the first place, and says: “Surgery works for some people. But for me, if I knew the complications and risks, I wouldn’t have done it.”

Although she experienced a dramatic 8 stone weight loss while the strap was properly fitted, she still had excess skin on her arm and had surgery in 2016 to remove it.

Matters worsened when she developed an infection after the surgery and at one point feared she would lose her left arm – but fortunately, antibiotics brought it under control.

She added: “Body shaming makes me angry, because even if you lose weight, you never forget the comments. I’m still not 100% confident with my body but I’ll get there.”

Mr. HINCH was born

After meeting her husband Jamie Hinchliffe, 41, who was known as Mr Hinch in the sales department they both worked in, Sophie chose to adopt the nickname Mrs Hinch.
