IT IS possible to download videos from Facebook – even if you don’t have WiFi.
Here’s a quick guide on how to do it.
How to Download Videos from Facebook
Find the video you want to download and click the three dots in the top right corner of the post.
Then click “Copy Link” and copy the link that appears.
Paste it into a new tab and change “www” to “mbasic”.
For example, if the copied address is , you would change it to
Once you’ve done that, press Enter on your keyboard.
The screen should change and you then need to right click on the video you want and click “Open link in new tab”.
In the new tab you should only see the video without it Facebook likes or comments.

Then right-click the video again and select “Save Video As” and save it to your computer.
It should work in seconds (or minutes for a large video).
So to repeat:
- 1. Find the video
- 2. Click on the three dots
- 3. Copy the link
- 4. Exchange www. to mbasic.
- 5. Press Enter
- 6. Open it in a new tab
- 7. Right click and save the video as
Downloading Facebook videos to your smartphone is possible but a bit more complicated.
And it would involve downloading a third-party app that you have to give your Facebook login to.
It’s probably better to use the desktop method.
It’s much safer – don’t risk your online security.
