WHATSAPP now lets you hide your online status – so others don’t know when you’re active.
Dubbed “stealth mode” by users, the feature will prove extremely useful for privacy fans.
Hitherto it has been impossible to hide the fact that you are online Whatsapp.
All you could do was hide your Last Seen status.
Then WhatsApp started testing the ability to hide your activity on the app.
And now, with the latest WhatsApp update, it’s finally possible to completely hide your online status.
The new feature will be available under Settings > Privacy > Last Seen and Online.
But remember, you can’t see when others are online if you’re hiding.
To get it, make sure you have updated to the latest version of WhatsApp first.
WhatsApp has been criticized in the past for not allowing users to hide their online status.
“There can be various reasons why people would want to use WhatsApp in stealth mode,” WhatsApp blog WABetaInfo previously said.
“Some users want to use WhatsApp without being disturbed by others.
“Or they feel stalked by someone.”

Bonus WhatsApp trick
If that’s not enough for you, here’s a clever WhatsApp trick you might enjoy.
Just open yours Whatsapp On iPhone, enter a chat and type a message.
Then highlight a word (or phrase, or an entire message) and hold your finger.
A pop-up menu will appear: Now tap on the BIU icon.
This allows you to change the style of your font – potentially confusing friends.
Of course, that’s not the only way to achieve this effect.
To make text bold, all you have to do is place an asterisk on either side of the word or phrase you want to make bold, like this: *text goes here*
Likewise, it is also possible to italicize WhatsApp messages, which is great for emphasis: italics.
It works the same as the fat trick but with different symbols.
You must put an underscore on both sides of the word or phrase you want to edit, like this: _text goes here_
The strikethrough function draws a line through your text:
It is usually used to indicate that something is wrong or should be ignored.
To get a strikethrough, place a tilde (that’s the squiggly line symbol) on either side of your message, like this: ~text goes here~
