Daniel Craig arrives to premiere No Time to Die

There’s no time to die even if we feel like it as the Mirror joins Daniel Craig’s coach to train for 007.

Craig, 53, achieves his enviable physique with high-paced Russian twists, crunches and lowers, sit-ups and leg lifts.

For many of us, it could also be a spy code for: “How much physical torture can you endure?”

Coach Simon Waterson went from Hull to Hollywood to become a fitness guru. Not only did the former Navy commando make sure Craig was the Man with the Golden Gun for all five Bond films.

He has also worked with A-listers including Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Captain America superhero Chris Evans and Halle Berry.

British stars Cumberbatch and Hiddleston – said to be hot to be the new Bond – rose at dawn for an arduous workout at London’s Parliament Grounds.

When I joined Simon, arriving by bus – eat your heart out, Craig – the mantra was the same as the saying for his superstar clientele: there’s no substitute for work. difficult.

Simon honed his frame with the 845th Navy Squadron, joining when he was 16 years old. It covers periods in Bosnia, before the film business was founded in 1997.

In the iconic scene in Casino Royale, when Bond emerges from the sea in a blue tunic – with a cry of “Oh my God!” from producer Barbara Broccoli – he said: “It was one of those moments.”

He added: “In the end, you get what you put in. It’s hard to get to the top of fitness. My job is to try and figure out the easiest way to do it.

“With Daniel, we became friends – sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s training who.”
