YOUR old iPhone might still have some life in it – so don’t update it just yet.
If you’ve had an iPhone for a few years, there are some clever tricks to make it feel like new again.
Get an Apple battery swap
Your iPhone uses a lithium-ion battery that has a limited lifespan.
Every time you Discharge and charge your iPhoneconsume the maximum battery capacity.
Over two years (or about 500 charge cycles) you would expect to have about 80% battery capacity left.
That means one iPhone That would have lasted 10 hours and now would only survive 8 hours without charging.
You can check your battery health by going to Settings > Battery and tapping Battery Health.
If your iPhone has a very low battery condition and it dies too quickly, there is an easy fix.
You can get an out-of-warranty battery replacement from Apple for $69/£69. This is a much cheaper option than buying a new iPhone.
Update your iPhone
Updating your iPhone is a surefire way to quickly freshen up your handset.
You’ll get brand new features, some new interface designs, and a fresh set of iPhone wallpapers too.
And best of all, it’s completely free.
Just go to Settings > General > Software update and update in minutes.
When you find that you can’t update to the latest iOS because your iPhone is too old, that’s a big problem.
That means you’ll no longer get the latest security fixes — and put yourself at risk of hacking.
So a lack of software updates should be your limit as to when you should finally upgrade to a newer iPhone model.

Organize your apps
If you’ve had an iPhone for a while, you probably have dozens or even hundreds of apps.
With such high app counts, your home screen pages can easily get out of control.
A trick is easy Hide home screen pages.
This means you have a much tidier experience and still be able to find all your apps.
All of this is thanks to iOS 14’s app library, meaning there’s no longer a need for a home screen jam-packed with apps.
First of all, if you scroll to the far right of your home screen, you now have a permanent app library.
This is where all your apps are stored and automatically sorted into their own categories.
So if you have apps on hidden home screen pages, they will still be visible in your app library.
Hide a home screen page Is simple.
First, make sure any apps you want to hide are stored on a homescreen page that you’re also happy to hide.
Then hold your finger on the home screen until your app icons start to shake.
Next, tap on the speech bubble with dots at the bottom of your screen – the one that shows which page you’re on.
This will take you to a home screen view where you can hide individual pages – by “unchecking” them.
When you’re done, just click Done in the top right.
These pages aren’t gone forever and will remain perfectly preserved until the next time you want to unhide them.
Of course, you can also leave them hidden forever.
You can still find hidden apps without going to the app library.
Just use the iPhone’s search bar (swipe down) or ask Siri.
Also, consider putting all the apps you have on your home screen into folders.
Drag and drop them to create categories like Games or Fitness.
Make sure you’ve also updated all your apps to get the latest designs and newest features.
To do this, go to the App Store and tap your profile picture in the top right.
Now scroll down and tap Update All to get the latest software versions for your apps.
Get a new iPhone case
This may seem silly, but it’s one of the best ways to instantly boost your iPhone.
If you’ve had an iPhone for a while, it’s probably showing some wear.
And you will have looked at the same iPhone color also for a while.
To keep it feeling fresh, consider getting a nice, slim case with an entirely different color and feel.
This will hide blemishes and blemishes and make your gadget feel like new again in an instant.
And if you get bored, you can just switch to something else.
