How to play Hogwarts Legacy now

The official release of Hogwarts Legacy isn’t until February 10th, but players have already started their adventure at Hogwarts.

There are a number of ways people got their hands on a copy early on.

A retailer shipped its copies to all customers who pre-ordered the game nearly a week early.

This only affected a small number of players who had pre-ordered physical copies of the game.

If you haven’t received your copy yet, there are a few things you can do to start playing your game sooner than expected.

Those who pre-ordered the deluxe edition of the game will be able to access it from midnight on February 7th.

However, you can still get it sooner by creating a new account or changing the settings on your console.

Even those who have to wait until the full release can play over half a day early with this trick.

If you have an Xbox Series X|S, on your Xbox, navigate to System Settings > System > Language & Location Menus.

Here you will find the option to change your location or region.

Switch to New Zealand and you can play the game 13 hours early if you’re in the UK.

PlayStation users will have a little harder time changing their location.

You need to create a new account with New Zealand location and purchase the game through that account.

If you’ve already bought the game on your main account on PS5, you’d probably be better off waiting.

This works because regardless of where you live, the game releases at midnight, meaning New Zealand can access the game first.

Reaction to Hogwarts Legacy has been largely positive, with many pleasantly surprised at the depth of the game’s world.
