WHATSAPP introduces a trick to help you recover deleted messages.

This means you can quickly recover text that was accidentally scrubbed.

The feature is rolling out for WhatsApp beta testers – but will eventually make it to the general release of the app.

It was discovered by the tech sleuths WABetaInfo who monitor the WhatsApp beta for changes.

If you are in the beta version of the app, you should see it soon.

When you undo a message, you’ll see a popup at the bottom of the screen with an “Undo” option.

Clicking Undo will undo your deletion.

Note: This only works for messages you’ve deleted for yourself – not for everyone else.

If you select “Delete for everyone”, there is currently no way to undo this.

But there is a handy trick you can use to fix an accidental deletion.

For example, if you tried to delete for everyone but pressed the wrong option, you would get stuck.

Now you can use Undo to restore the message and then undo it properly.

“A snack bar will appear when an attempt to delete a message for you is detected,” WABetaInfo explained.

“In this case, you have a few seconds to restore the message if you previously wanted to delete it for everyone.”

Unfortunately, it’s not clear when this feature will be rolled out broadly on WhatsApp.

But it’s currently coming for WhatsApp beta users, so check for an update today.
