What historical information does Instagram store?

Facebook has been working to improve its transparency with the data it collects from users.

And because Facebook owns Instagram, you can use both apps to quickly get a deep dive into your online habits.

There is an increasing amount of information on Instagram that you can find since you started using the social media platform.

There are ways on the platform to see when you joined Instagram, including the exact time.

Instagram will notify you of any account privacy or password changes you’ve made, as well as any previous email addresses and phone numbers you’ve used.

Also, all your old bio texts and bio links are visible.

There is a Connections section that shows your current follow requests, all the accounts that follow you, and the accounts and hashtags that you follow.

It also shows any accounts you have blocked or ones you hide stories from.

How can you clear your search history?

Instagram keeps a detailed record of all logins and logouts in your account, as well as your search history.

So if you haven’t deleted it, you can see what you’ve been looking for since you opened your account.

There’s also a timeline of stories you’ve interacted with, including polls, emoji sliders, questions, countdowns, and quizzes.

And at the very bottom, you can look at ad interests, which show what you think you like about Instagram — which is reflected in the ads you see in your feed.

To clear your search history, you must first click on the “Search & Explore” tab, which will take you to your favorite accounts and hashtags.

When you’re ready to proceed, click Clear All at the top right of your screen to completely clear your search history.

How can you access your Instagram data?

You can find your data by following these steps:

  • Step 1: Click on your profile and then go to the menu.
  • Step 2: Click Settings and then select Security.
  • Step 3: Select the Credentials section located in the middle of the page.

From there you can see all the relevant information that Instagram has filed. It is divided into different sections including Account Information, Profile Information, Connections, Account Activity, Stories Activity, and Ads.

Below the access data tab there is another option for downloading the existing data.

This allows you to export all of Instagram’s records of you as downloadable files.
