How to watch the Gundam anime franchise in order

To keep things simple, we will only feature shows that are available on streaming services, although we should say that most Gundam The series is also available on DVD and Blu-ray. With that in mind, let’s fly in Gundam!

(Note: While we’ll do our best to avoid spoofing, some of these shows and movies are sequels and therefore some spoilers will pass. )

Also known as Gundam 0079 in some circles, just to distinguish it from the series that followed, the original Gundam Batch rarely shows its age. In fact, we think it’s one of the strongest anime classics you’ll find. The story revolves around a young boy named Amuro who is caught up in a war between Earth and the seemingly evil god Zeon. The mechanical action doesn’t disappoint but it’s Amuro’s journey as a character that will appeal to anyone. Yet even in the dark, the relationships that form between Amuro and his teammates keep the proceedings from getting too bleak. Add the enigmatic yet intriguing Char Aznable and this is a classic that won’t disappoint.

Note: This series is also compiled into three movies that condense the series while adding some new elements. We wrote about that in more depth here, but in short, you should watch TV over movies if possible. If you only have Netflix, then you should start with those aggregators!
