Huge iPhone 14 leak hints at a new color for the upcoming handset that will divide fans

THE IPHONE 14 hasn’t been on the market for months, but rumors are already circulating about a snazzy new color option.

Apple’s latest phone will be available in PURPLE, as well as more traditional hues like black and white, according to a leaker.

The move would mark quite a departure for the California tech titan, which typically sticks to neutral color options for its devices.

However, it has an earlier form of offering lighter hues, having launched purple, red and yellow phones in the past.

The flashier options are usually shared by fans, with some falling in love and others turning their noses up at them.

Apple is expected to unveil his next iPhone later this year, probably in September.

The company is keeping the device under wraps for now, but it’s almost certain that there are multiple iPhone 14 models in development.

They are rumored to be called iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Max Pro.

In short, the “Max” models are said to have a larger display and the “Pro” models have better specs, including a brand new A15 chip.

According to a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo seen by AppleTrackall four models come in the new shade of purple.

The post from a self-proclaimed Apple insider claimed that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will reportedly be available in black, white, blue, red and purple.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will reportedly be available in Graphite, Gold, Silver, and Purple.

There’s no way to verify the leaker’s identity, and the Weibo post has since been deleted, according to AppleTrack.

That means you should take their claims with a generous pinch of salt.

However, Apple released a purple version of the iPhone 12 last year, meaning the rumor is far from wild.

Apple is expected to launch four new smartphones in the months leading up to Christmas.

These include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

That would be a departure from previous years, when the “mini” variant was abandoned for a new “max” version of the standard iPhone.

Several key analysts and leakers have suggested this new lineup.

That includes Apple pundit and industry watcher Jeff Pu, who said we can expect these four models without a Mini variant in an investor note seen by MacRumors.

The same lineup was shared by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF Securities.

All four new iPhone 14 models are expected to feature ProMotion displays.

Currently, these high refresh rate 120Hz screens only appear on Pro models.

They provide smoother animations and scrolling and are generally better suited for gaming.

All four models are expected to come with 6GB of RAM, which is a step up for the lower-end iPhone models.

And the Pro phones are expected to feature an upgraded 48MP camera on the back of the device.

Finally, it is recommended that the iPhone 14 Pro models start with 256GB of storage instead of 128GB.

At the very least, a lineup of four iPhones, all equipped with 5G and more powerful chips, seems all but certain.
