Huge iPhone 14 ‘leak’ reveals massive price hike and first look at NEW features coming this year

APPLE is working on a new smartphone for 2022 — and it could cost $100 more than last year’s model.

A popular gadget leaker has posted details of a claimed “iPhone 14 Pro” online.

Apple hasn’t confirmed such a phone and probably won’t do so until September of this year.

But iPhone leaks will increase in quality and quantity in the coming weeks as Apple prepares for launch.

Apple is said to have recently “ramped up” production of the iPhone 14.

And now Gadget Leaker @Shadow_Leak on Twitter reportedly posted details about the iPhone 14 Pro.

It’s impossible to know if the post is correct – we won’t know for sure until September.

The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to sit alongside the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to the leak, it will sport a large 6.06-inch flexible OLED screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate (for smooth scrolling and animations).

The display is designed for a razor-sharp resolution of 2,532 x 1,170 pixels, which corresponds to 460 pixels per inch.

That’s the same pixel density as last year’s iPhone 13 Pro.

It’s expected to carry an even faster A16 Bionic chip – a given, judging from previous iPhone launches.

The handset is said to pack 6GB of fast LPDDR5 storage, along with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.

On the rear, we’re expecting a triple camera arrangement, with two 12-megapixel cameras paired with a 48-megapixel shooter.

A pill-shaped notch should break the top of the screen to house a selfie camera and the Face ID scanner.

And the body will reportedly feature a titanium alloy frame.

The entry-level model is said to cost $1,099 — exactly $100 more than last year’s model.

Unfortunately, we won’t know if any of this is true until Apple makes a formal announcement later this year.

When is the iPhone 14 coming out?

iPhone 14 release date prediction

The big launch event always takes place in September and tends to fall early in the month – usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

For 2022 we expect the event to take place on Tuesday 13th September or Wednesday 14th September.

This will be followed by pre-orders for the iPhone 14 on Friday 16 September.

And we’re expecting an actual iPhone 14 release date of Friday 23 September.

We will be informed about the Apple event in the week before the scheduled Apple event.

Of course, we cannot guarantee any of these dates – but they are the most likely.

Apple could also move the entire pattern a week earlier, hosting an event on September 6 or 7 with a September 16 release date.

But we think the slightly later event is much more likely.

Apple typically announces its event about a week before it’s scheduled to be held.

So we’re assuming the event will be confirmed on September 6th or 7th this year.
