And if you’re still using a PS4, that’s good news too, as some will come your way as well.

So what can we expect?

PS parties

Sony has listened to the fans and finally gave them what they want.

You can now create and join open and closed parties on both consoles, as well as through the PS app.

And the best thing is that this special update is available immediately.

As part of the move, the PS App Game Base UI has been slightly updated for easier access to friends, parties, and messaging features.

Variable refresh rate

For those who want the absolute best visual experience, the news of PS5’s variable refresh rate (VRR) support is cause for celebration.

This works on HDMI 2.1 compatible TVs and PC monitors.

According to Sony, it will improve visual performance for PS5 games by “minimising or eliminating visual artifacts” such as B. Frame pacing issues and screen tearing.

Gameplay will feel much smoother, graphics will look sharper, and input lag will be reduced.

However, the variable refresh rate isn’t available yet – it will be rolled out “in the coming months”.

User Interface Changes

Sony is also tweaking some parts of the PS5 UI.

What you’ll notice the most are improvements to the game base and trophy maps.

You can now keep the games or apps you selected on your home screen by selecting “Keep in Home”.

The home screen can now have a total of 14 games and apps on your home screen.

Sony is also expanding its accessibility options and adding even more screen reader languages.

Something also being tested is a new voice command feature that will allow gamers to use their voice to find and open games, apps and settings, as well as control media playback on the PS5 console.
