Hugh Jackman’s wife slams ‘boring’ rumors about his sexuality

Hugh Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness has once again denied rumors about his sexuality and revealed he would proudly admit it if he were gay

Hugh Jackman’s wife has constantly attacked rumors about her husband’s sexuality.

Deborra-Lee Furness has had to deal with rumors about the X-Men star throughout their 26-year marriage, but has dismissed them outright.

The Australian actress, 66, says she’s completely over the gossip and insists she doesn’t pay attention to what she calls false speculation about her love life.

Speaking on the Not an Overnight Success podcast, she revealed, “It’s so silly. And it’s boring.”

She has spoken out to set the record straight in the past and wonders how and why people are fabricating the rumours.

She said if it were true his husband would be proud.

She said: “If he were gay, he could be gay. He no longer had to hide in the closet.

The actress then joked, “And he would date Brad Pitt or whatever.”

The couple married a year after meeting on the set of Australian TV series Correlli. They have two children together – son Oscar, 21, and daughter Ava, 16.

Deborra-Lee gushed the pair had an “incredible bond” from the start, calling their matchup “magical.”

“He proposed four months after we started dating,” she revealed, calling it a “no-brainer” to accept her husband’s proposal.

She added, “It was the first time I knew what it was like to be in love.”

In September, Hugh’s father passed away and the star took to Twitter to break the devastating news to fans that he had passed away on Australia’s Father’s Day.

The Greatest Showman star was raised by the single father alongside brothers Ian and Ralph.

He wrote in a heartfelt post at the time: “In the early hours of Father’s Day (AU) my father passed away peacefully.

“And while there is deep sadness, I am filled with such gratitude and love.

“My father was, in a word, extraordinary. He devoted his life to his family, his work and his faith.

“I pray that he is at peace with God now.”
