HUMAN remains found on the coast of Lambay Island have been identified as missing of a Dublin woman who disappeared two months ago.
Police said DNA analysis showed the body found last Thursday belonged to Elizabeth Redmond, who disappeared from her home in Artane on December 12.
Calls for her disappearance have also been tempered.
A Garda spokesman said: “Following the discovery of human remains on Lambay Island on Thursday, January 27, 2022, which were positively identified through DNA analysis, the media’s call for Missing Elizabeth Redmond has been reduced.
“An Garda Siochana would like to thank the media and the public for their support in this matter.
It appeared when the gardai was still hot information about the disappearance of another Dublin woman, Bernadette Connolly.
Last week, police released CCTV footage of the missing mother after she was last seen at a Dublin beach.
Gardai is renewing their call for public information for the 45-year-old man missing from Swords, Co Dublin as of Friday, January 7th.

Bernadette was last seen when she fall by taxi at the Shoreline, Donabate Hotel parking lot and walk towards the entrance to Donabate Beach.
Bernadette is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build, hazel eyes and long black hair.
Gardaí is now pleased that, at the time of Bernadette’s disappearance, she was wearing a black Nike trainer, black Nike leggings, and black trainers with white soles and a black beanie with black ruffles. .
A spokesman said: “Gardaí continues to urge anyone with any information on Bernadette’s whereabouts to speak directly to Gardaí today or contact Swords Garda Station 01 666 4700, St. Garda Security line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
Taking to her Instagram earlier this month, her daughter Jade revealed that the taxi man Dropping her off at Donabate has returned first.
A blue/green Peugeot Partner taxi is seen carrying Bernadette to the Shoreline hotel in Donabate area in Co Dublin at around 11:55am on 7/1.
Jade said: “The taxi man came first, I’m grateful for that – she asked him to take her out there (the beachfront hotel) and that she was meeting a friend…
“Someone on that beach must have seen something, maybe she was walking down / taking pictures / rowing.
“Please, try and think about what you have seen. It is believed that she was wearing a pink scarf that day.”
