HUNDREDS of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have complained that their accounts have been unfairly permanently banned.

Multiplayer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched on October 28th, and in the few days since, hundreds of players have lost their accounts.

The game has software programmed into it that will permanently ban players who use cheat software to gain an advantage.

However, players claim that they mistakenly get permanently banned despite not using this unauthorized software.

The emails received from those banned read: “Your appeal has been reviewed and we have confirmed with our security team that your account has been permanently banned for use of unauthorized software and tampering with game data.

“Because you were the account owner at the time of the violation, your ban will not be lifted.”

Despite recent missteps, CoD: MW2 is shaping up to be the best CoD yet

It’s currently unclear what software the program is falsely recognizing, and publisher Activision has yet to respond.

Those who want to play CoD:MW2 multiplayer should uninstall all installed cheat software, even if it’s a different game.

However, others who have never used scam software have also claimed to have received a ban.

Other likely causes include using overclocking software to improve the game’s graphics and framerate.

Some believe that using a VPN has resulted in them getting a ban, while others believe it is due to using a third-party controller.

An angry player bought a second copy of the game after being banned and created a new account only to get another ban on the game.

They then traveled to Austin, Texas, where Activision’s headquarters are located, to speak to someone about the current issue.

This extreme measure was taken because the player claims that they could not reach player support via phone call.

The person was turned away by security and did not pursue the issue.

Call of Duty is one of the world’s largest gaming franchises, and many who were looking forward to playing the latest game at launch have only been disappointed.

There is currently no way to escape the ban once it’s in place, and as such players will have to wait for Activision to respond before rejoining the game.
