Hundreds of hungry customers queued for hours for a plate of fish and chips for just 45p.
A new Mother Hubbard crisp shop opened in Erdington today with an incredible deal when customers started queuing at 9am.
The chip shop saw queues down the street as hundreds waited for the 11 a.m. blue ribbon to be cut.
Many were eager to get their 45p deal with a large chunk of breaded fish and a tray of fries, Birmingham Live reports.
A customer was seen taking home seven servings to feed his family.

Typically, the store also stocks chop shop staples like pies and breaded sausage, chicken strips and nuggets, and fish cakes.
But for the opening day special, it was just fish and chips, with extras like mushy peas and soft drinks available for purchase.
This meal would normally cost £8.75.
As customers began queuing, Mother Hubbard’s staff distributed bottled water.

Two fire eaters and breathers were also brought to entertain those waiting.
Manager Chris Thornton said: “It was brilliant. I’ve calmed down now after being nervous about what was about to happen.
“It turned out really well. We have 1,000 fish ready and we are over the moon with the response. Many customers have asked us when we open during the week.”
Deputy Police and Crime Inspector Wasim Ali added: “It’s a great cause for the local community. Local businesses are the heart of the local community, not just fish and chip shops. Business leaders are undervalued.
“They often play a huge role in holding communities together. They are great places for conversation. We must do everything we can to support them. This shows that Erdington is a vibrant, bright area with a long economic future.”
