The man who murdered his British wife Caroline Crouch has been attacked by a fellow inmate at a Greek prison, according to his lawyer.

Babis Anagnostopoulos is serving a life sentence for suffocating 20-year-old Caroline in front of her 11-month-old daughter in May last year.

Caroline had been tortured and smothered with a pillow at her home in Athens while Anagnostopoulos staged a robbery and even hung the couple’s dog, Roxy, to cover his tracks.

The 34-year-old claimed an Albanian gang was responsible for Caroline’s death, only to eventually admit the murder when his web of lies was exposed.

He will also appeal the testimony of the couple’s marriage counselor, claiming she was not qualified to produce it.
