I am a mother of a young son and was furious after a selfish scooter driver occupied the Aldi parent-child parking lot

A mother was furious when she spotted a scooter taking up a parent-child space at her local supermarket.
Becze Imre, 34, was looking for a vacancy at Aldi in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday when she spotted the motorbike.
The mother-of-one, who was bringing her 16-month-old son with her, was upset that the bike took up the parking space normally reserved for parents.
White markers painted on the floor show a child in a stroller next to an adult, indicating that the space is to be used by mothers and fathers who may need easy access to the shop.
The wider spacing between the bays also gives parents more room to get their children in and out of the car seats.
Before her weekly shop, she got angry when she saw the scooter.

Becze, from Fenton, related that Stoke Sentinel: “This guy was parked there for over an hour.
“When I was in Aldi he was there and when I finished shopping he was still there. And when I was done with McDonald’s, he was still there.
“If another car is parked there, it doesn’t bother so much. People often rush and park in the wrong place.
“That’s forgivable in my eyes. It’s more difficult to park in a car, but it’s very easy with a motorcycle. That’s sad.

“Aldi staff are very quick so you can get your purchase done quickly but it wasn’t even in the store.”
Outraged, she took to social media to vent her frustration.
Many were quick to sympathize with Becze, but some believed she was overreacting.
One woman commented that the motorcycle owner “didn’t show any consideration at all” and called for the driver to be fined heavily.
Another agreed: “They should get a fine. I see it all the time and also people with car seats in the car but no kids with them.
“What’s the point of having the spaces if they can get away with parking spaces like this.”
But one woman didn’t get what the big deal was about, writing: “Why are people so upset? We have much more in the world ahead of us.
“Many parents park in these lots just because they have a child seat in it but don’t have a child with them.”

Another man said, “First world problems.”
Aldi is urging any customers who see parking bays being abused to speak to a store manager, but advises the actions that can be taken are limited.
