Dr AN Irish shared these “red flags” symptoms that could be signs of cervical cancer.
Dr. Monica Peres has arrived TikTok to share the signs and raise awareness about the disease as January is cervical cancer awareness month.
And share the same video on Instagram, the Irish health expert warns against ignoring symptoms, even if you’ve had a recent cervical exam.
“Health Tip: Just because you’ve had your cervix checked doesn’t mean you should ignore your symptoms,” she said.
“January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month so here are some Red Flag Symptoms of Cervical Cancer
“Cervical cancer is the 4th most common cancer in women worldwide and more than 300000 women died from the disease in 2018.”
Dr Peres adds: “Getting your HPV vaccine and regular cervical screening tests can help prevent cervical cancer.
“Please note, there may be other reasons for these symptoms, so if you have any concerns, please contact your doctor.”

And she shared these “red flags” symptoms of cervical cancer with followers. They are:
- Pain during intercourse.
- Bleeding after intercourse.
- Bleeding between periods.
- Bleeding after menopause.
And Dr. Peres also cautions that transgender men and those with a cervix still need regular cervical screening.
“If you are a transgender man and you still have a cervix, you need to have regular cervical screening, as you may also be at risk for cervical cancer,” she said.
