‘I believe in the integrity of what we do’: Kathryn Thomas backs the RTÉ . program

RTÉ’s Transformation Activity may have fouled eating disorder support groups recently, who have alleged it has “caused” a number of people.

ut presenter Kathryn Thomas has said she looks forward to it returning on our TV schedule for the 16th series as she stands alongside the show she’s been starting since 2011.

“We wait to find out every year, whether it will be re-commissioned from RTÉ or not. But with ratings the way they are, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be,” she told Irish independence.

Like previous years, the latest series drew an average of 400,000 viewers, and she thinks it’s a “really important show.”

“I 100pc believe in the integrity of what we do. I’m a mother of two girls and what we promote on the show is health and wellness and educate people about why it’s important to be healthy.

“Our leaders, who push themselves to the top every year, they know the program, they know what we do, they trust us.

“For people who need to lose weight for health reasons, there’s nothing wrong with that and that’s what we do and that’s how we help people.

“And that’s why it’s so popular. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I don’t think our program should be used as a scapegoat for that,” she said.

Mom with Ellie (4 years) and Grace (four months), she recently resumed her postpartum runs as she kicked off Lidl Ireland’s three-year deal with parkrun as its official fresh food partner mine. ‘I believe in the integrity of what we do’: Kathryn Thomas backs the RTÉ . program
