In one TikTok, which has 374.1k views, Ashley, a mother of two, filmed herself writing text explaining her choice.

She wrote: “You gave your daughter a name when she was just pregnant, shopped for all the monogrammed items and then decided once she arrived that you hated it and legally changed her name when she was 5. months old?”

Calling herself out, the 37-year-old also says in the video: “Yes, I did but it was an accident, so be it.”

Buying baby items like blankets, underwear and more personalized with her initials will be expensive but living with a name she doesn’t like will be even more frustrating.

She captioned the video with the words: “Glad to not have to live a lifetime regretting naming her baby!”

The name she originally chose was Audrey, but now she calls her daughter Piper.

She explained after many people asked her to reveal her name: “It was Audrey, which I still thought was beautiful but I just can’t call myself that. She’s Piper now that suits her perfectly. there!”

Ashley, who has an older son in school, changed her daughter’s name when she was 5 months old.

Many parents admitted they did something similar in the comments of her video.

As one wrote: “Almost called my baby Emily changed to Aria which totally suits her better.”

“My daughter Emilia was during my pregnancy and when she was born we were like NOPE Aubrey!!!”

“I chose a name after 20 weeks, changed it 2 weeks after it was born and I have no regrets! Names are important.” Wrote other.

“Almost called my daughter Katniss. She’s Aria now.” One movie and TV fan spoke as she picked names from The Hunger Game and Pretty Little Liar.

While another was influenced by the name in the movies, saying “” I did the same thing! I named her Isabella and then the sunset came and people thought that’s why I named her that, now Arabella. “

For some, the name never comes out as they say: “I can’t name it. I’ve had unresolved labor. See her- still can’t decide. Wait 5 days can’t decide. determined. Her father gave her her name.”

While some are still pushing for a name change, as they say: “My youngest just turned 4 and I’m still trying to talk to my husband about changing his middle name. I can’t stand it, it doesn’t suit it. at all.”

Several Audrey’s in the comments said they approved of Ashleys’ initial choice of name but she said it didn’t suit her, once she met her.

“I chose a name for my daughter during labor,” admitted a fellow mother.

“That’s why I waited almost 24 hours after my daughter was born to choose a name,” said one mother, to which Ashley replied, “So smart! “

While another almost embarrassed shared: “Oh my god you changed it. I’m so sorry about the name I chose for my 13th month. I want to change it for the worst.”
