Serious dance team professional Amy Dowden spoke about marrying co-star Ben Jones during a star-studded ceremony in South Wales.
Dowden, born aerphilly, 31, entered the BBC dance competition show in 2017.
Speaking of marrying professional dancer Jones, Dowden told Hello! magazine: “It’s a day I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl and, well, it’s even more.”
Jones added: “Amy looks so beautiful… and having a member of McFly sing at our wedding was definitely a highlight.”
The event featured performances by Dowden’s former dance partner and British boy band McFly member Tom Fletcher.
Also in attendance were a host of serious stars including colleague Dianne Buswell, who was Dowden’s bridesmaid.
Former dancers Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec, 2021 contestant Sara Davies, serious professional Katya Jones, judge Craig Revel Horwood and famous past Dowden partners: Fletcher, JJ Chalmers, Colin Jackson and Brian Conley are on the all-star guest list.
Dowden and Jones got engaged on New Year’s Eve 2017 after Jones proposed while the couple were performing rumba in front of a crowd during an event at the dance academy they run together.
Despite regularly performing in front of large audiences, Dowden revealed she was especially nervous walking down the aisle.
“I dance in front of millions but I get nervous walking down the aisle.”
She added: “I feel like a Disney princess.”

Jones panted, adding: “Amy always looks gorgeous so it’s no different than usual.”
Dowden explained the thought process behind Fletcher, 36, performing McFly’s song All About You during the ceremony.
She said: “I initially asked Tom to sing as I walked up the aisle, but he told me he always cries at weddings, so I wanted to let him enjoy the ceremony.”
She added: “I talked a lot about the wedding with him last year, so it was a pleasure for him to be a part of this special moment.”
Despite being nervous walking down the aisle, Dowden revealed she and Jones didn’t feel pressured doing their first dance.
“We were used to dancing on stage but it was very easy,” Jones said.
Dowden added: “We didn’t choreograph anything because we knew it was going to be work… Imagine a chef cooking on her wedding day!”
She also confirmed that although she will officially become Mrs. Dowden-Jones, she plans to keep Dowden as her stage name on Strictly.
“I want to go with Dowden-Jones because if we are lucky enough to have a family in the future, I would love to have the same name as my children.”
