“I got pregnant at 16 and didn’t tell my dad – he had to deliver my baby at 4am”

Mum-of-two Elle Woods has revealed how she found out she was seven months pregnant when she was 16 – and then gave birth in the middle of the night with her dad

As a woman, there’s probably nothing more terrifying than the prospect of discovering late in pregnancy that you’re expecting a baby — but going through all that at age 16 is just a whole different ball game.

That’s exactly what happened to mother-of-two Elle Woods, who found out she was seven months pregnant with her daughter during a routine trip to see her nutritionist.

The then-teen was so terrified she didn’t tell anyone until she woke up at 4am one morning in excruciating pain and was forced to tell her father – who gave birth to the baby 20 minutes later.

In a series of clips on TikTok posted by her handle @therealelwoodsElle told her followers, “I found out through my nutritionist — not my GP — and I just didn’t tell anyone I was pregnant.”

Just a few weeks later, the teen woke up in the early hours of the morning in great pain and asked her dad to get her painkillers — but she quickly realized she was already in labor and suddenly “half the baby’s head.” [was] already over”.

Rising to the occasion, Elle’s shocked father quickly called emergency services, but as the nearest hospital was a 40-minute drive away, staff told him he would have to deliver the baby himself.

“[He] took me to the bathroom as that was the largest tiled area and they put down a whole pile of towels,” she explained in a follow-up clip.

“My uncle – my father’s brother – lived with us and was responsible for keeping my sister with Down syndrome busy with other things so she didn’t know what was going on. Dad said it was pretty quick having a second child since then and I worked with him very quickly too.”

Elle continued, “When the ambulance came [15 minutes later]They packed me up and took me to the hospital. I don’t remember much because I went into shock and lost a lot of blood.”

Luckily, both Elle and her daughter – who is now 13 – were doing well and the girl’s grandfather decided he would become a full-time granddad so his daughter could go back to school while he looked after the baby .

Elle’s daughter – Belle – is now her grandfather’s best friend and has since had a second child with her husband.
