I lost my Apple Watch at Disney World – now I have a $40,000 credit card bill

A WOMAN has claimed a thief managed to spend a whopping $40,000 on her Apple Watch during a ruined trip to Disney World.
The unidentified visitor dropped her $1,300 / £1,033 special edition Hermès during a drive.
She reportedly had multiple credit cards linked to it, including an American Express with unlimited credit.
The watch apparently passed a gap under the slow-moving The Seas with Nemo & Friends attraction on April 13.
It slipped off her wrist and fell through a mesh floor.
She could see it but couldn’t reach it while the ride was moving.

Her husband got out of the ride to try to get the Apple Watch but was stopped by employees. WDW news today reports.
They were told someone would get it for them and later bring it back to their hotel.
But the woman was in for a nasty surprise.
No one turned in the device – and worse, around $40,000 / £31,700 in fraudulent charges were made.
It is not clear if the transactions went through or if she managed to stop them in time.
The device should also not work unless it was on the woman’s wrist or the person knows her passcode.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reportedly asked the victim to find out where the fraudulent charges were made.
This will hopefully enable the police to trace where the card was used illegally.
