A car buyer is furious over the condition of a £28,000 BMW – after buying it without viewing.
However, the car had passed his MOT just a few days before.
Mr Linington of Trowbridge in Wiltshiresaid he bought it from a dealer called Performance Club and was disappointed with the condition it was delivered to.
He claims there are markings on the outside of the car that he wasn’t expecting.
“The description said it was in good condition,” he said NottinghamshireLive.
However, Sam Moustafa, the runs the car dealershipdismissed the claims, saying the car was up to date and the customer “knew what they were paying for”.
“I made it clear to him that the car was traded in, so it was cheaper,” he said.
“I told him clearly to come and see the car, but he said it was too far away.”
Mr Linington who runs one car parts Business, bought the vehicle after seeing an ad on Autotrader.
He didn’t see the car in person, only through photos and a video call before making the purchase as he lives almost three hours away.
“It was the first time in my life that I had Bought a car without seeing it‘ said the 52-year-old.
“I don’t know what came over me because it’s usually not a problem for me to travel the country to find the right car.”
After receiving the “faulty” car, he said he tried to give notice to return the car, but has since given up after being “meddled about”.
Both parties eventually agreed to contribute £1,000 towards repairs, which is not the £1,400 Mr Linington was asking for.
Mr Moustafa has firmly denied Mr Linington’s claims, insisting the customer knew what he was getting when he bought it.
