I texted my boyfriend to reassure me when I was feeling fat… his reply made things even worse

WHEN WE don’t feel our most confident, we often seek reassurance from our partners.
We normally expect them to offer kind words, but one woman was stunned by her boyfriend’s reaction.
TikTok users, rodrickssimp_, shared a video of her boyfriend’s reaction, which went viral with over two million views.
Hannah from the UK but now living in Spain shared the disastrous message with her followers.
She didn’t share the original message she sent him, but by the look of his reaction it showed that she was feeling less confident with her appearance that day and feel ‘fat’.
Instead of comforting Hannah or offering kind words, he shocked: “If you feel fat, don’t eat a few bites.
“I don’t know what to say, honey.”
Hannah captioned the video: “He didn’t even send a TW (trigger alert).”

In a comment under the video, a woman says he should be her ex now, which Hannah says he is.
Some surprised users said they could relate to his answer, one said: “Wow what the hell did he have to say lol?”
Another replied: “You’re all acting like he’s not right.”
Thankfully, most users agree that’s not an appropriate text for a boyfriend to send; “Imagine not taking a few moments out of your day to make someone you love feel better.” Wrote a person.
Another user commented: “These comments are horrible. You are so beautiful and you deserve to eat whenever and wherever you want. You deserve better than this boy.”
“How does someone think ‘yes this is perfect for me to send it in’ is he really okay?” Said third user.
