I tried a delicious Green Chef recipe and it costs less than £6 for two

Like many of us, although I love to eat, I’m always looking for a healthier and more convenient option for dinner.

I’m not a culinary genius and often after work I want to get in and out of the kitchen as quickly as possible.

So I decided to try one of the UK’s popular healthy food subscription services, Green Chef.

I was keen to try the company, having recently tried some delicious recipes from parent company HelloFresh – which is currently one of the most popular recipe subscriptions in the UK.

I was really excited to try one of the brand’s flexitarian options, honey mustard grilled pork tenderloin served with sweet potato wedges and a carrot and apple slaw.

And for those of you who, like me, can’t think of anything worse than standing over a stove for hours, it only took me 45 minutes from start to finish.

My Green Chef meal box arrived on time and perfectly packaged, as expected, within the time slot I was allotted the day before.

Just like when HelloFresh’s box was delivered, all meat products were separated from vegetables and spices. Easy-to-understand recipe instructions were also included.

Again, everything is pre-portioned beforehand to accommodate the number of people you want to cook for – in my case there were 2 of us.

However, you can select recipes for up to four people and get up to five meals a week for just £5.37 per portion plus a £3.99 delivery fee.






The apple and carrot slaw was a welcome and delightful side

So here’s what I thought of the Honey Mustard BBQ Pork Tenderloin.

I was a bit worried about how the pork was going to turn out as I hate dry meat, but I was pleasantly surprised at how tender and juicy the meat was. There was even enough left for seconds.

I enjoyed slicing and preparing the sweet potato wedges, but one of my favorite parts of this meal prep was actually my newfound favorite side.

The apple and carrot slaw was the trimming I didn’t know I needed, but I really loved it and I’ve made it on my own a few times since receiving the box.

I spent a total of about 50 minutes in the kitchen from start to finish – just about the right time before my restlessness sets in.

I would give this Green Chef menu a strong 8 out of 10.
